Good to know: The Birkin isn't from any jungle. It's a chimeric mutation that appeared spontaneously in a batch of Philodendron 'Rojo Congo' and was propagated into a houseplant hit. Occasional leaves emerge half-white or even reverted red.

Water & feed

Watering method: Top-water until it drains once the top 1–2 in are dry. The white-striped leaves burn faster from soggy roots than from thirst.

Care notes: Light is the whole game: bright indirect keeps the pinstripes crisp, while a dim corner slowly turns new leaves plain green. The white portions crisp first when air or soil runs too dry.
